Portraits
LaunchNovember 2026
The most therapeutic paintings I’ve ever made, all in oil. Each portrait comes from somewhere below conscious thought, the deepest emotions the subconscious lets surface, given a face.
About
Anastasia Dvorzhanska
A Ukrainian-born painter based in Palos Verdes, California. She holds a degree in arts and trained under teachers who prepared students for the most selective art academies.
Alongside painting, she has spent more than twelve years as a product strategist and designer in the tech industry. She came back to the canvas because she needed somewhere to put what she was feeling, and nothing replaces working with her hands. She paints in oil and acrylic, with brush, palette knife and tape, building each surface in layers that are pushed on, scraped back and cut through with hard lines.
Emotions come to me as color, almost the way you taste food. I don’t want you to stop at the idea. I want you to feel what’s behind every stroke, the way life actually feels.
